Watching Snow Fall

Garrr! I don't really have time to do this, but I'm just toooooo happy with the picture not to.

Anyway, this is for the current contest. The requirement is that it should have Kenshin in it. Ta-dah! and it should have one of a list of things. I chose snowflakes. Snow falling is soooooo pretty, and I don't get to see it very often, so I drew it to make up for that.

I imagine that this is the scene right before who ever it is that is seeing him through the tree branch up front exclaims, "Kenshin! What are you doing? It's freezing out side, come in and put something warmer on!"

This took for ever to do. I started it when the contest was first announced, and I just finished it.

The way I do my photo realism is that I find a random photo of someone in the right pose (as long as the person is NOT too big, that is all I need) and I use that to get the proportions right. I draw the line art of Kenshin in that pose right over the photo and then I make the photo dissapear. I do this cause I am using a mouse and the only way I can get clean lines is if I work in hyper zoomed in mode, and it is easy to loose track of the big picture when I do that, so a photo of a person int he righ tpose helps me stay on track. Then I color the picture, and then I increase the contrast and the saturation and play with the colors and stuff to make it look more like a photo. The background is unreferenced. I just thought that you all might be interested.
